Great Summer Party Ideas

Summertime offers great weather for outdoor parties. Enjoy the break in school and enjoy the warmer weather by having a fun party. Enjoy some of these fun ideas.

Host a costume party! Costume parties can entertain children and be an exciting event for adults as well. Host a themed party if you would like or keep the costumes open to whatever the guests would like to dress up as. Theme parties can be fun and give you a more specific theme to focus on. For example, for a 50’s theme you know you can dress in poodle skirts and greaser costumes. Poodle skirts are great costume ideas because poodle skirts come in both adult and children sizes. Other theme costume parties include westerns, princess, superhero, etc.

Grill up some grub by having a BBQ party in your backyard. You can serve great BBQ food, including hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, watermelon. Top it off with some ice cold lemonade.

Cool off by having a pool party. Pool parties are the perfect soiree for the summer. Order pizza, provide water guns, and have popsicles for dessert.

Have fun as a neighborhood by having a block party. Block off a portion of your street (not around a corner) and have a party for everyone on your block. Make it a potluck and enjoy mingling with all your neighbors.

Make your summer fun by hosting an outdoor carnival. This fun idea is especially nice for kids. Set up booths, have face painting, cotton candy, fun crafts, popcorn – and lots of water!

Put on your Hawaiian print shirts and have a luau in your back yard. Decorate your yard with a tropical theme, with bamboo and Hawaiian accessories. Serve pineapple ham, rice, and a lot of different fruit and vegetable platters.
