Dress Up Birthday Party For Girls

We recently posted an article with ideas for a preschool dress up party. Here are some more ideas, but catered towards girls instead of toddlers. Below are some suggestions on birthday party games, activities, and more dress up fun.

First, start out by finding or making the perfect party invitation. Keep with the dress up theme. You can make your own by cutting out shapes of purses or shoes. You can also find some very cute party invitations online that are catered towards a dress up birthday party.
Be sure to make the decor of the party fun. Hang streamers and balloons in similar colors, and drape feather boas around the room. Borrow mirrors to put around the “dress up room” so all the girls can see their outfits. You can use balloons as the centerpiece of the table by tying the strings to the handle of a purse.

When the girls come to the party have the children poodle skirts and other dress up outfits ready for them. Put the children poodle skirts in a large box or trunk that they can scavenge through. It can also be fun to do a quick, simple make-over such as face painting or adding lip gloss or blush to the girls so they feel dressed up.

A fun craft for the girls to do is to make body glitter. You can make body glitter all you need is a cup of aloe vera gel and polyester glitter, found at most craft stores. Use wood craft sticks and fill different containers with the aloe vera gel and let girls choose the glitter they would like to use for their body glitter. You, or another adult, can help them put the body glitter in a container with a lid and they can put their name on it with the help of a sticker label.

Make or buy a dress-up pinata. The pinata can be shaped like a purse or lipstick. Instead of filling the pinata with just candy, add plastic jewelry and lip gloss as well.

Decorate picture frames for a party craft. Use stick on jewels, glitter glue, and gel pens. Girls can add their name and decorate the frames however they would like. You can take Polaroid pictures of them in their cute children poodle skirts or dress up outfits, or send out pictures to them after the party for them to add to the picture frame.

For a party favor you can usually find small purse totes at dollar stores. Fill the purse with hair ties, lip gloss, princess stickers, and plastic jewelry. The girls would probably not complain if you added a piece of candy or two.
