More Exciting Red Hat Stories of Adventure and Fun

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

It is no surprise that most girls love to dress up in costumes. Girls love to dress up in costumes like tiaras, pearls, poodle skirts, and boas. Red Hatters have taken that love to dress up with them to their activities. Now, 50 years later, women can still dress up in their boas, poodle skirts and fun hats at every single Red Hat Society event. Below are some more examples of the fun events that are hosted through the Red Hat Society.

The Pearly Girls, of Broome, Australia, decided to take their event to the beach. They hosted the Zoom Into Broome event at Cable Beach, with nearly fifty Red Hatters attending. They enjoyed the white sandy beach, beautiful sunsets, and rides on camels.

Dressing up in 50’s poodle skirts and other costumes can be a very fun activity. Dressing up in red hats, purple outfits, and even purple 50’s poodle skirts if they desire, is one aspect of Red Hat Society events. Below are a few example of fun things that Red Hatters have done at Red Hat Society events across the world.

Parades are a popular event for Red Hatters. In Florida the LPGN Ladybugs decided to enter in the “Keepers Day” parade in Lighthouse Point. They dressed up in full garb, purple 50’s poodle skirts, boas, pearls, and rode through the streets in a trolley.

In Alberta, Canada the Red Hot Mamas decided to enter a float in their town’s parade. They designed the float to be a huge red hat. They ended up winning 1st prize in the parade.

Girls love to dress up in children poodle skirts, bulky shoes that were much to big for them, and princess dresses. How wonderful that years later, these same girls can still have fun dressing up in poodle skirts, hats, and fun outfits for Red Hat events. Here are five stories of the fun events these women have dressed up for.

1. In North Carolina the Gaston Girly Girls and Red Hatters B.A.L.L. chapters decided to participate in a parade together. The Gastonia Christmas Parade was held in Gastonia, North Carolina. They had fun dressing up in the parade. Poodle skirts are very fun costumes to wear during parades.

2. The Strawberry Tarts and Motueka Pacific Roses hosted a convention together in New Zealand. They wanted to have a fun adventure, and adventure they had. The convention was held at the top of the South Island and they decided to tour the Island.

Red Hatters definitely know how to have a fun time. Dressing up in red hats, poodle skirts, and purple boas are only one aspect of their events. Here are some of the activities these women do every year while dressed up in the fun outfits and poodle skirts.

Not every Red Hat event needs the involvement of the entire Red Hat Chapter. One woman, Delores Barton, from Kawaiisu, Indonesia went on a Cruise and kept her Red Hat sisters involved by sending them updates and pictures of her cruise. She cruised around the globe, and thanks to the Red Hat discussion boards they were able to be a part of her fun adventure with her.

A chapter in St. Louis, Missouri decided to have a luncheon at the St. Louis Science Center. The Red Hat Mini-Makers really enjoyed learning new things with the science exhibits there. They especially enjoyed the newest exhibit “Sue, the T.Rex”.
